About the exhibition

Work in mixed media (oil paintings, drawings, film, installations)

The exhibition is a collaboration of emerging women artists, brought together under a shared concern: where does the Art begin? What constitutes the creative process and what is its relation to woman’s life?

It highlights the dichotomy of Professional Art versus “part time art”’; the Artist’s life (as a progression of a being aware of its artistic talent since the age of 5, who unwaveringly follows his genius instinct) versus a woman’s life and the variety of roles she plays, performs and engages in.

Facing reality of lower wages and often feeling the ‘need’ for compartmentalization of life, it becomes easy to overlook one’s own Art.

The group includes established and emerging artists, including current students and graduates of Goldsmiths College and Camberwell Art School, as well as young writers, illustrators, and other professionals.
